Thiparra ( Shield ) - Kristian Coulthard Artist_Other Artists Bridget was forced to liveThis beautifully handcrafted Sheild known as a Thiparra is hand carved out of Mulga and hand burnt by Kristian Coultard from Blinman in the Flinders Rangers SA. The shied is called a Thiparra the lines on the back represent story lines and song lines, the two etched lines represent our two moiety north wind and south wind. Etchings represent all the generations of our people, the etchings are coloured with red Ochre. Thiparra's were used for fighting
