The first ray can be rotated and works well with jigs that address frontal plane deformity. The first metatarsal is cortical cancellous to allow for MIS jigs that use the canal of the first metatarsal. Being cortical cancellous the metatarsal provides great feedback when using a drill or wire driver. The first MTP joint articulates for MTP
