Goldfinch and Thistle (MUG 1) Bright and joyfulFinches are a common summer bird in St Charles, and I never tire of watching them monopolizing the sunflower stalks. Their sunny color lifts the spirit. Here they are poised with thistle flowers there are elegant glaze flows over these over looked thorny flowers. This piece was created from a wheel thrown body with added sculptural elements. Color is layered throughout the making process at every stage in order to achieve a lively depth in the
