and was a dedicated and inventive printmaker
on cream Van Gelder Zonen paper
"Farm Scene" by Harry Hering, Amer., (1887-1967) Featured Allied Artists and the NationalPhotogravure, ca. 1930's, 8 7 8 x 10 9 16, ed. 100, signed & dedicated in pencil, on smooth cream wove paper, slight foxing to margins, toned in mat opening. Though this appears to be an aquatint and in fact was printed from an intaglio plate, there is a uniform pattern to the tonal areas as in a half tone. I suspect that Hering experimented with this commericial technique and considered this an original print; signing and dedicating it to fellow
